Vehicle Pack Shots

The absolute greatest challenge of pack shots is finding the right location.

Finding the right surface for the vehicles to be parked on with the right background is extremely limiting. Add to that the need for the right negative space for copy and a simple pack shot has turned into a real hassle.

One of the greatest frustrations is finding a seemingly great location only to find that the lensing that looks great for the background won’t work for the vehicles. Square peg, round hole.

Pretty soon the task will be taking up way too much of your time and energy when you already have your hands full planning the rest of the shoot.

WE MAKE IT EASY

We take on full responsibility for the pack shots.

We do the location scouting based on your specs and present the location options with rough vehicles and supers integrated. No need to ask your client to use their imagination. No deflated expectations on the tech scout.

Once we’ve chosen a location, we shoot it.

This frees up production to focus on other things for a smarter use of resources.

WE MAKE IT POSSIBLE

Think about all the potential locations you could work with — locations that don’t even allow film production or would simply be inaccessible to it.

We aren’t limited by requiring a vehicle staging area, more often than not we create that part in CG. That’s the key to opening up unlimited location options and not looking for unicorns.

Need the vehicles parked on pavement? Situated on rugged and rocky terrain? Or a grassy field? Maybe the top level of an urban parking garage? We already have all that in CG, ready to be paired up with the right background.

AIM HIGH

Uncommon locations make for unique and memorable vehicle placements and support bold branding statements.

White backdrops don’t say anything.

Shooting the pack shot location is much of the time just Marek hiking in with a camera. He recently hiked a steep 8 miles beyond the end of the road to capture the perfect dramatic mountain view few get to see.

Besides tops of mountains, he’s also shot a helipad on top of a high-rise building and off the balcony of another to get a unique city skyline.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING

We can afford to wait a few days for the right light, because the shot just won’t look as great without it.

Pack shots rely heavily on available light, something that as you know doesn’t always cooperate with your shoot schedule. Because of the lack of significant crew and equipment and not to mention—the lack of transporting vehicles to location, we can and do schedule a suitable window of opportunity to get the best possible shot.
